AMORINA
Amorina began her study of Raqs Sharqi (belly dance) at the age of 17 after being inspired by dancers within the Society for Creative Anachronism. Watching their graceful movements illuminated by firelight and accompanied by live drummers felt like stepping into a living fairy tale, and she quickly fell in love with the art form. Within the SCA, she trained with a variety of dancers and styles, building a strong and diverse foundation.
After moving to New York City, Amorina continued her dance education at Serena Wilson’s studio, studying with renowned instructors Zenaida and Blanca and also with Oreet of Sharqi Belly Dance, where she refined her technique and expanded her artistic expression. Upon returning to Kentucky, she pursued further training in traditional and fusion belly dance at Arabesque World Dance and went on to teach there for many years, sharing her passion for belly dance with students.
Today, Amorina teaches and works as a massage therapist at The Massage Center in Lexington, KY, where she blends her love of dance, movement, and holistic self-care in a welcoming, body-positive environment. She is the director of Troupe Dagaz, a collaborative dance group, and her student troupe, Habibi Amor. She specializes in Raqs Sharqi, cabaret, fusion, and theatrical belly dance, and is dedicated to ongoing study, performance, and community engagement.
Classes with Amorina can be booked through themassagecenter.org. She is also available for solo performances, troupe collaborations, private events, and workshops.
