EVA
Eva Ensmann’s life has been shaped by dance for as long as she can remember—and it shows in every performance she brings to the stage.
Formally studying belly dance since 1995, Eva trained for seven years in the San Francisco Bay Area as a cabaret belly dancer with Nanna Candelaria and performed as a principal dancer with Troupe Tabu. She further enriched her training through classes with Fat Chance Belly Dance, Suhaila Salimpour, and Jill Parker, building a deep, well-rounded foundation in the art.
After moving to Lexington in 2002, she became a principal dancer with Rakadu. A lover of improvisational style, cabaret and fusion belly dance, she is currently a troupe member of Rakadu at Mecca Live Studio and Troupe Dagaz.
Eva also teaches specialty workshops at both studios, offering classes such as:

Beyond the studio, Eva is a troupe leader for Shimmy Mob – Team Lexington, KY, and is proud to have participated since Shimmy Mob’s inception.
Eva’s dance journey is truly global. She has lived abroad for three years (Estonia, New Zealand, Estonia), always joining local troupes and serving as a guest instructor, including with Sansaara Studio in Tartu and Arabellas Bellydance and Spirit of the Tribe Belly Dance in Auckland.
Eva grew up dancing and prior to belly dancing had 10 plus years of ballet training in NYC and Estonian folk dancing. She also has informally been belly dancing since she can remember (her mother is a belly dancer and belly dance instructor) – she cannot imagine life without dance.
💫 Booking: Eva is available for hire as a soloist, as part of a duo or trio, or as a member of Troupe Dagaz.
